ISF NET Holds ‘Workation’ in Nagasaki Prefecture

ISF NET, INC. joined Nagasaki Prefecture’s “workation” initiative from October 22 to 25, 2024. Like the term suggests, a “workation” combines “work” and “vacation” to provide a break that is both productive and refreshing. The four-day workation had employees working together during the day and enjoying Nagasaki’s tourist attractions at night. ISF NET “workationers” delivered seminars to local businesses and held informational interviews with university students.
◆’Workation’ at ISF NET
ISF NET strives to provide employees with freedom and flexibility in how they work. Workations are part of this, giving team members the chance to work across Japan while enjoying the country’s sights. Nagasaki Prefecture’s workation initiative aligns well with ISF NET’s model, making the stay in Nagasaki more than just a short vacation – it became an opportunity to build lasting connections with the area and its people. This workation also brought together eight employees from two different departments at ISF NET, allowing them to collaborate for the first time and strengthen bonds through the shared experience.
◆Seminar on the Use of Generative AI

On October 23, ISF NET hosted a seminar for local businesses on the use of Microsoft Copilot. Attended by 39 participants, the session aimed to support regional revitalization through ISF NET’s expertise. “We have Microsoft 365 at our office, but we haven’t been able to fully take advantage of it,” said one of the participants. “This seminar has been enlightening.”
◆Informational Interviews for Students
On October 24, ISF NET engineers held informational interviews with five university students in Nagasaki. Students could choose between a session on automated workflows or information security.
“I didn’t know anything about information security before this, but I was able to get a solid grasp on how it works,” said one of the participating students. Another student appreciated being able to hear firsthand from an engineer about their approach to work.
After the informational interviews, ISF NET hosted a networking event where students and IT professionals gathered to discuss the industry. Graduating students received valuable advice on job hunting.

Going forward, ISF NET will continue creating opportunities for employees to participate in workations, contribute to regional revitalization, and connect with new business opportunities.
